Service Description

The Service Dog Board & Training Program is an intensive, highly personalized training program designed to prepare dogs for the vital role of a service companion. The program length varies depending on the dog’s age, temperament, and skill development — ranging anywhere from 2 months to 24 months. Training a service dog is not only a big decision mentally and physically, but also financially. This program requires commitment, patience, and collaboration between the trainer, the dog, and the future handler. Not all dogs will qualify for service work; some may show potential initially but ultimately not meet the strict standards required, and unfortunately, may fail out of the program. Our program carefully evaluates each dog’s aptitude for service tasks, obedience, socialization, and public access skills. Dogs that successfully complete the program emerge as confident, reliable, and highly trained service companions ready to make a meaningful impact in their handler’s life. Every stage of training is tailored to the individual dog, ensuring the highest standards of safety, skill, and welfare throughout the process. This program is ideal for those seeking a life-changing partnership with a professionally trained service dog, and for dogs capable of rising to the challenge. It’s a journey that requires dedication, but the reward is a dependable companion who can dramatically improve quality of life.
